Tonight's chronic illness: Dialysis
Dialysis is a silent killer. It affects people of color two to three times more than whites. Pacific Islanders have the highest rates of dialysis in the world, followed by people of African ancestry. Tonight we speak with Alice Lo, an Asian American from Houston, Texas, who has diabetes and high blood pressure and was told to start dialysis five years ago. Except she hasn't started yet. She's been taking high dose quinapril, a protocol developed by Dr. David Moskowitz nearly thirty years ago. Tune in to find out how it works, and why nobody has heard about it.
Additional Guests: will be Rev Ronald Wright, a longtime activist. And Arlene Mullin, credited as the long-time leader and founder of the Dialysis Movement. Arlene Mullin is a long-time associate of Dr. Moskowitz.
