Lawrence Lucas returns this evening to update on the plight of Black and other minority farmers who are still battling the USDA for fair and equal treatment. Having been subjected to historical discrimination, these farmers have been denied access to grants and loans and many have lost their land as a result.
Substantial efforts have been made to expose the inequities within the USDA relative to Black and other minority farmers by comparison to all other farmers. While the USDA would like to sweep this investigative report under the rug, even claiming that they significantly reduced claims, and reduced discriminatory practices, the report shows a very different picture.
With Tom Vilsack repositioned as head of the USDA, things will most likely worsen. Please join Lawrence and his guests for an in depth discussion, including reports of recent meetings with officials and the outcome of those meetings to date.
