Andy McBride was drafted from High School straight into the professional football (soccer ranks) at 16 years old by Crystal Palace FC.
Spent 3 years on youth and reserve teams before playing a total of 5 league and cup first team games 1973
Injured in 1973-4 and was loaned to Hellenic FC (Cape Town South Africa) in 1974. Was the youngest player on the team and scored the winner in Coca Cola Cup Final
Spent 3 more years in South Africa playing in the NFL (National Football League) and was member of the 1st Division Championship team in 1977. Played in one of the first ever multiracial matches at the National Stadium
In 1978 signed for the California Surf in the North American Soccer League based at Anaheim Stadium. Lived in Newport Beach and spent 3 very enjoyable years there.
1981 played for the Pittsburgh Spirit in the MISL (major Indoor Soccer League)
Worked for Jose Feliciano as his Tour Manager from 1986 – 1990. Invited by the Pentagon to tour S Korea with the USO and actually did some mini concerts in the barracks of the soldiers based in the DMZ. Also visited the room that separates NK and SK.
