ABOUT MARIA SCHMIDT
As Founder and President of Haunted Journeys, Maria is inspired in community collaboration within the paranormal field, to enhance public awareness for the contributions of the paranormal investigation industry. High in Maria’s focus with the work she applies is historical preservation, declaring "A Haunting is History seeking to be Heard." As a Registered Nurse, her experiences with the after-life were heightened working with gerontology and the death & dying stages of life. Later as an operator of one of the most haunted inns in Florida, her curiosity for scientifically approaches were further intensified. 
Through her company, Haunted Journeys, a formal proclamation to recognize National Ghost Hunting Day as a certified calendar entry, was commissioned. To celebrate this date annually, an event is internationally launched called the “World’s Largest Ghost Hunt” engaging millions around the world. Celebrated on the last Saturday of each September, this global event dedicates itself to Historic Preservation, unity among stakeholders in the Paranormal Investigation field and Public awareness of the respectful merits and contribution of the haunted industry to the tourism market.
