Heidi and Tamara Trend On John Leaf. John Leaf is passionate about nicknames, the intimacy of them, and the stories behind them.

 
He began the project in the summer of 2008. In the ensuing 3.5 years, he has appeared 3 times on the Milwaukee NBC WTMJ-4 show The Morning Blend, authored 28 nickname related blogs for the onMilwaukee web site, and appeared on the Lake Effect radio program WUWM-89.7 FM with host Bonnie North.
 
John was also featured in Jim Stingl's column in 2009, in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and The BizTimes, and has spoken on the topic of Transmedia to classes at Marquette University, Alverno College and Concordia University.
 
John lives in Cedarburg, WI and is currently working on funding for a documentary on the topic, and is also pitching the project to unscripted television sources nationwide. In his free time, John does yoga, bike rides and reads voraciously.
