No one truly knows who that naked man was. There are theories and speculations - was it Mark himself? No one knows. None-the-less, we can read it in Mark and wonder.
Why does it matter? What is important about that frightened and naked man from a metaphysical perspective?
The poor man's linens were pulled off of him by the soldiers who were arresting Jesus. We are told that he ran away naked, quite obviously terrified that he, too, would be arrested as a follower of Jesus.
From a metpahysical stance this has deep significance!
