“The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as a native among you and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” The second great commandment of the Old Testament, as Jesus called it (Mattew 22:39) comes from (Leviticus  19;18) You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.” The term “neighbor” here probably means fellow-Israelite. But in (Leviticus 19:34) God says, 

You can tell what a person loves by what he devotes himself to most passionately. What a person values most is reflected in his actions and motivations.
