In an extraordinary speech that everyone who heard it is still buzzing about, "Democracy in Chains" Author Nancy MacLean returned to Madison to offer a disturbing but also inspiring analysis of a very real conspiracy by the Koch Brothers and their extreme right wing brethren to essentially dismantle democracy. It was shared at the annual meeting of the WI Democracy Campaign earlier this month. The WDC's Matt Rothschild begins the evening by offering a sweeping overview of recent threats to democracy in Wisconsin, but also offers historical and contemporary perspectives about our hopes for reclaiming our broken democracy.
