About Our Guest:

Reuben Keith Green is a retired naval officer who served from 1975 to 1997.  Beginning his career as an enlisted sailor, he subsequently attended Navy Officer Candidate School and served for twelve years as a surface warfare officer.  While an enlisted man, he served as a Mineman, legal clerk, equal opportunity program specialist , leadership instructor, and administrative office supervisor.  His unique exposure to many facets of naval service gives him a rather unique perspective on diversity and equal treatment within the Navy in particular, and the military in general.  He wrote the award-winning book, Black Officer, White Navy to share his experiences and to issue a warning to the civilian and military leadership structure that constant vigilance and commitment are necessary to maintain a level and fair playing field for all.
