In 2015, Maurice Jackson, driven by his passion to perform for the fan base who loved the Independents, longed to return to the stage. The other original members - Chuck Jackson, Helen Curry and Eric Thomas having embarked on other careers, and had little interest in performing live again, so Maurice Jackson formed Maurice Jackson’s Independents. After some trial and error, the talented and stylistic new Independents consist of the original member - legendary Maurice Jackson, songstress Loysanne and Grammy-nominated songwriter musician Paul Richmond.
