If we were all adventurers, we would need to expect long absences while one or the other was off adventuring somewhere. We would anticipate his return, to entertain us with his report but we know him well and his would not be so stiff. Such gossip that fills in the story is for the privileged few in his audience. As we pull our chairs closer, the night carries on until at last we part again, until next time when it might be your turn, your adventure that draws us together. The story is what has held men together for centuries when we reveal and discover common intererests. It is fun to be in the audience as it is to contribute. Our brotherhood has held the attention of men giving them an experience that heightens an oddity about mankind. We complete our understanding by listening and sharing ideas. Every year we can find intensity when we are proximate to student groups, especially those who can maintain some level of good taste, if not sobriety. Sometimes, the more outrageous the better. No one would seriously think of capturing the esprit de corpse? It depends so much on spontaneity. The places people gather has been doing this for centuries. An outdoor cafe in one city, a bistro in another. Tea house over there is the coffee house here. Gentle nights, people strolling by. Curled up in a warm noisy pub with a pint of bitter. They are immediately recognizable. We aren't the same ppl we were. We think differently. The world demands more of us. We laugh, We cry. We believe. And yet something remains familiar, generation to generation. What separates the stars is imagination, what the adventurer brings to the table. Go once to such a place, and it resets your thinking. Go once to a place where the explorers are diving into consciousness and reason, whether surreal or provocative, it is transformative. Sometimes when we forget our way, we are too stiff, but underneath, we are curious to learn.
