Masonry: Alive and Doing Fine

Who woulda thought?  Was it possible to form an organization dedicated to enlightenment? to replacing ignorance with fact. Darkness to Light? We know the answer is a resounding yes.   

Today buffeted by the acceleration of science and knowledge in general, Masonry is answering the challenge with a challenge of its own.  What happens when Masonic tenets and principles embrace the synergy of imagination ?   Now that the genie (communication) is out of the bottle, all forms of leadership including masonic, have undergone careful exam aimed not at understanding but satiating growing cynicism. Success depends on the fruition of genius. Genius is being buffeted on a sea of scientific knowledge that doubles in depth every nine years.  Doubles.  We are masons in these unusual times.  Worrying about our future is only a temporary distraction.  We are living our future today.   We understand our doubts about the future are self-generated and unimportant.  Masonry is not a goal as such but it has goals- we impart knowledge to the entered apprentice to fulfill  his abilities as a man of character.   To do that, he must understand his nature and his position in the universe.  It is as much about a binding process as it is about understanding.  Periodically we have lost track of our aims, only to be brought back to task by dedicated brethren.

We seem to be at a watershed moment.  The tipping point is an interesting question;  not whether we address the contemporary sensibilities but how we change the narrative to focus on modern and calm the clamour or those who fear loss of identity.
