Advice For The Well Dressed Man

Being a Freemason isn't as nearly as precarious as the art of becoming one.  The easy bit is the startling realization the questions asked  of an initiate lead us to appease the inquisitors but should probably come with a disclaimer; to the man of conscience this will eat away at your soul. 

Dressing the part, enables us to join the chorus. It comes with expectations- said not in words but concepts; using that inner conversation we each have within our minds. We don't listen to the wisdom of the ages, until we little to that inner voice. Call it common sense that process we jealously save until reminded of its vastness, fearful of giving away mediocrity to find potential.

All the antients, all the opinion pieces speak to us about  the feel and experience a philosophical life. To make sense of the volumes of opinion accumulating around us, we require proofs that are consistent and valid.  Through 600 years of history, older members have demanded familiarity; our youthful members have demanded change and the Craft has said yes to each.  Theological without dogma. The engine driving freemasonry is to root out hyprocrisy, replacing complacency and ignorance with knowledge.

There were no 'firsts to covet';  there is 'now', 'me' and became us; todays goals and accomplishments became tomorrows forgotten momemts.

The Freemason learns to face himself in the mirror each day, until he stops running away.  Then he understands the steps and stages of improvement and self awareness. Rash judgement ceases to an attributable. We cease to become a promise of a better day to come and begin to realize it is a proof expected of us. Now let's get on loving and enjoying the task!
