Let me outline a preposition; a freemason is in a perennial state of apprenticeship. To avoid wounding a fragile ego, we are the apprenticeship with significant skill- punching out of our weight class; in the mind wanting the skills of the apprenticeship who produced the Roslyn Chapel column that insulted the vanity of his master who slew him.

Is the message a warning to expect ego to have a viciousness? Or is the message that with effort, with dedication, we can be outstanding?  Being outstanding comes at a price.  Though we like the idea of excellence, I doubt we would recognize it.

We are a fragile lot, despite all the chest thumping and bravado. Thankfully, the passage of time lets us examine this question without letting our passions run away with our sense.

To protect the growth of a brothers abilities, we need to be schooled in the spirituality of his behaviour. We need to accomplish a state of mind that looks for principles not shortcomings while being real.

Ah, thats the rub. Are we expected to be soft robots? Then how can we accept the collision of realities. Each one with his own orbit.

Good question.

Help.
