If Not, Not

At times, the Gentle Craft can seem anything but.  I don't have  problem with the wording; but I worry that judgements have been influenced by study of ethics and principles.

We seem fascinated by what we are not; obvious to notice was is lacking than what is present; but why is this personalized?  Not exactly flattering but there you have it. Our behaviour suggests we seek out conflict, stiffly, with hubris, indifferent to the portrayal of freemasonry.  This behaviour has been a preoccupation for decades- so I'm once again pointing out the obvious aren't I?   In this very active humanist laboratory, unfortunately there is a "small F" within a "large F" Order.  It puzzles me, that freemasonry seems uncomfortable with the diversification of process at the front that would cultivate and nuture,  while tolerant of the back end where intellectual currency has been loosing value for a great long while.

If there is a a fine line between cricisism and comment in your mind, we can at least speculate if we have discovered a subtext. I'm reminded of the cautions we are taught about assuming casuality.

Join me as I raise the question with you, as I define a stream of thinking from the beginning to this very day- that caused our good friend Walter Leslie such concern and Grand Masters to remain silent on the subject.

Perhaps you will once again advise me on the issue that we have made benign because of our lack of ability- the je ne c'est quai that  troubles leadership development. If we come together, we may reveal the secret.
