Freemasonry is inspirational and uncommon. Today, too often we may loose sight of our connection to that process.  We have not maintained the infrastructure but the laws of entropy, the passing of  time are resolving  that problem by taking the matter out of our hands

Being in the audience of the most recent Annual Communication, I was enlightened by the conversations around me when a vote came up asking us to make a small annual financial commitment to the long term development of education.  The comments were meagre, uninformed and from some corners I sensed an distasteful tone- schadenfreude. Schadenfreude is one of those wonderful German words that blend ideas into a single term.  It means "malicious joy at the misfortune of others".  

How has that darkness crept into the heart of freemasons?  A Grand Lodge is members we have elected to research, to recommend and guide; on behalf of all of us, we ask our representatives to take on responsiblity for moving ahead.

How then can we meet our goals, while we seem unable to take time to be well informed, to understand issues and when in doubt, to put our faith and support in the recommendations of the Grand Master? 

Faith is what you and I bring to the matter. No one, no authority can make a freemason comply. Alone, you and I have a choice. Do we erode the process of our elected officers or do we stand with them, when called upon show that support?

Be thoughtful, be prepared. Keep the big picture in mind.  We are writing new pages into history. Let's make sure we are remembered for what we attempted and not for being paralyzed and stagnant.   We are all in this together.  I look forward to joining  you on the internet- the radio of the world
