The Gathering of Christ Church: Are They Hebrew Israelites or Just Plain Christians. This is a question that most people have wrestled with who have come in contact with the GOCC. On one hand, we teach that the people who fufill the prophecies and curses of the Bible are in fact the lost sheep of the house of Israel, and that we must turn back to the Most High God and keep his commandments. On the other hand, we believe wholeheartedly in the Gospel of Christ and the New Testament, we believe and practice water baptism, and we believe that it is our duty to preach the Gospel to all who will receive it; to the Jew first and then to the Greek. Because of the many elements that exist within the ministry of the Gathering of Christ Church, people often wrestle on how they should label us. If we're labeled as just plain Christians, how do you resolve our stance on the keeping of God's laws, or the importance of identifying the 12 Tribes of Israel, or our denouncing of many common Christian practices such as Sunday worship? If we're labeled as Hebrew Israelites, how do you resolve our willingness to teach all people regardless of nationality, or our acceptance of Christ as Lord and King, or our stance on keeping important practices such as baptism? For those who are members of the GOCC, what is your take on the ministry? Do you see yourself as being involved with a Hebrew Israelite camp or a Christian Church? Should you be ashamed if you're identified as both? Lastly, can this anomaly be resolved according to the Bible?
