Yes, I will be covering some interesting news items. After all, this stuff really IS writing itself, and it's always fun to poke irreverent jabs at La Dopey Nostra and the rest of Big Left. But let's face it, the real news is, for college football's Football Bowl Subdivision--that's "Division I" to old-timers like me--"Championship Week".

Sure,some of this week's games are anticlimactic. And in the case of the Iowa Hawkeyes, we shuld be under no illusion that this Saturday's game against The Cheating Harbaughs of Michigan is NOT about making the College Football Playoff. Hell, even IF--huge "if"--the Hawkeyes pull a major miracle, it doesn't mean making the CFP. It might not even be enough for New Year's 6 bowl, in fact. But this weekend will pretty much tell us if the CFP rankings have been right, or even close, all along, or whether the CFP Committee will be pulling their hair out between (roughly) 11pm Sunday and (roughly) 2p Sunday.

Darn it all, though, I'm going to be talking about the Hawkeyes! What Hawkeyes are making "All-B1G", who might be All-American, and where I think a loss or win puts us come bowl announcement Sunday!
