WIth the B1G Conference announcement last week that all Fall sports, "football included", were cancelled for 2020, complaints flew, tempers flared, misinformation was the norm, and answers were hard to find. Commissioner Kevin Warren was the proverbial "deer in the headlights" when being interviewed by Dave Revsine on Big Ten Network (BTN), while the Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Smith, along with representatives of both medical and non-medical variety, appeared prepared and to have at least done due diligence. Most of all, parents of B1G student-athletes--led by Iowa Hawkeye parents, but joined by parents from Ohio STate and Penn State, at the least--have delivered letters to the B1G office in suburban Chicago. Frankly, they aren't asking for much. They want to know what changed in the six days following the announcement of schedules, and the two days from the day camps opened. They also want transparency, as players, coaches, and ADs--at a minimum--also couldn't explain what happened. They want the B1G to (rightly) be transparent and forthcoming. They also want to know why the NCAA, ostensibly the governing body for major college sports, has been practically nonexistentt. No standards, no protocols, no uniformity. In short, NOTHING.

On a rlated football note, I sent a tweet to former football player, WWE wrestler, highest-paid entertainer and new XFL owner Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to see if he shouldn't maybe pluck the upperclassmen from some of theses schools. It's not like there are scholarships available at the remaining P5 schools, and with non-P5 conferences also cancelling seasons, there really are no playing options for B1G and Pac 12 players.

In politics, the Democratic Convention has officially nominated Joe Biden as their Presidential candidate, with VP running mate Kamala Harris. Yawn.
