The Logic of Islam with Dr. Carl Goldberg

In order to understand why Moslems behave the way they do, we need to understand their mentality which is determined by Islam's basic beliefs.

This week we will discuss the basis of Islamic faith including the shahada and basic required beliefs in Islam and "the perfection of faith". All of these basic beliefs have serious consequences for us non-Moslems.  In addition, we will examine the Islamic notion of Allah and Muhammad, and the consequences for non-Moslems as well as for "moderate Moslems".

Among other fundamental Islamic beliefs are these:

• The Shahada is the only necessary act to become a Moslem
• No Moslem becomes an unbeliever through sin.
• A Moslem can become an unbeliever by denying what is "Necessarily known to be of Islam"
• The consequences of the belief that Islam is considered perfect.
• Belief in Allah is rejected without belief in Muhammad as Allah's messenger.
• Islamic faith is rejected without belief in the Afterlife
• Innovation in religion is rejected
