REAL REPRESENTATIVES, Chapter 8 of Kingdom of God Volume 1

Pages 80-90

Christ and Belial cannot be made friends; the devil is at war with the Kingdom of God on the earth, and always has been, and will continue to be, until he is bound. (Brigham Young, JD 2:319)

In these two kingdoms the two representatives are defending their kingdom as the only true one, and their church as the only true church–so how can you tell which is the genuine article?

The devil puts on a facade; he represents himself as something he is not. He lies over who he is, what he does, and what his principles are. He is such a master of misrepresentation that he can surpass the greatest of all magicians. And he has “dominion over all the earth, among all nations.”

With two kinds of leaders we have two kinds of leadership. One king uses his “authority” to require strict obedience to everything he says. Like a military leader, he dominates by supreme rule over all his subordinants. The other representative has reversed the order of command. He said: “whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant;” (Matt. 20:26-27) and also, “whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” (Luke 14:11)
