The Professing Candidates

In 1912 Joseph F. Smith was still troubled by those claiming to hold the position of “One Mighty and Strong”, so he warned:

[10]I know that the Lord will not raise up “Tom, Dick, or Harry”, here, there and everywhere, claiming to be Christ, or “One Mighty and Strong”, claiming to be inspired and called to do some wonderful thing. * * * Put that in your little notebooks now, and remember it …. (April Conf. Rept., 1912, p. 10)
