Good evening One Minute Til Midnight radio audience. Was Abraham in it for reward?
Genesis 12:1 Go forth from your land, your birthplace, your father's house, to the land that I will reveal to you. Why did he go? Abraham destroyed all the idols in his father's house as a youth. He was a believer before Yah spoke to him. Bereishit Rabbah 38:13 - not in Torah
Yah says "follow me, trust me and he does." Yah tells him to take his son, Isaac to the land of Moriah. "Take your son, your precious one, the one you love." Here is an amazing parallel between the two times Abraham believes Yahuah:
I. Your home / Your son
II. Leave your birthplace / leave your precious one
III. Leave your family / Leave the one you love... but the first has a reward (a promise of a nation), the second destroys the promise (therefore taking faith and the need for him to redefine himself as Yahuah's above all other life identifiers like father.) Abraham was obedient and his faith was made evident in obedience. Join us for the amazing exploration of these stories and their meaning!!
