GUEST:  Jane Blasio

TLC presents TAKEN AT BIRTH, a three-night television event coming October 9t - October 11th at 9/8c. The six-hour special will share the untold stories of the “Hicks Babies,” the name given to more than 200 newborn babies illegally sold or given away from the back door of a small-town Georgia clinic run by Dr. Thomas J. Hicks during the 1950s and 1960s.

In 1997, the shocking news story broke, revealing that Hicks was alleged to have spearheaded a black market baby ring out of his clinic, denying over hundreds of babies their true identities and biological families. One of those babies is our guest, Jane Blasio. She would discover she was one of about 200 infants illegally placed in a black-market adoption ring by the same country doctor, Thomas J. Hicks, from his clinic in the Appalachian copper-mining hamlet of McCaysville, Georgia, near the Tennessee border. TLC examines Blasio’s pursuit of her past — and her effort to inform and unite others like her, collectively known as “Hicks Babies”

If you or someone that you know think that you may have been one of the "Hicks Babies" please contact Jane at her website: www.JaneBlasio.com  She and her assistants want to help and hear from you.
