Dr. Raymond Moody was the very first mainstream doctor to broach the subject in his groundbreaking work, Life After Life, published in 1975.  As a physician, Moody had long been interested in accounts of patients who had returned from a Near Death Experience (NDE) with stories of their journey to an afterlife.

Lisa Smartt is the founder of the Final Words Project and author of Words at the Threshold. Lisa is a linguist and educator who is helping to unlock clues to understanding the mysterious language that is commonly spoken at the end of life.
