Elkanah Asked Hannah, Why WeepestThou? Stacey Lunsford

1 Samuel 1:8, Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?

Elkanah was such a loving husband and he was very attentive and emotionally available to his wife Hannah, you see he understood the depth of her pain...he understood the bitterness of her heart about not being able to give him a child.....and so being the man that he is, he said, am I not better to you than ten sons....in laymen terms...he wanted to comfort Hannah and Elkanah was saying baby I still love you and your inability to conceive a child doesn't take away my love for you...I love you, Hannah.  This is such an awesome love story, depending on how you look at it...*smile*
