Releasing the “chokehold” on Black youth and families is the topic of tonight’s Dr. Harris Black Lives Matter Show, hosted by Maria Else, and Aline Reed. What are the “chokeholds” preventing our youth from leading healthy and productive lives, free of gang involvement, and violent crimes? What role does family dynamics, the city, and community play in creating the foundation and unity needed to help youth develop into responsible and productive citizens? A question was posted on Facebook asking what are three things that could stop youth from joining gangs/criminal activity, and the responses were insightful; We will share them on tonight’s show that will feature our special on-site guest, the show’s founder Dr. Floyd D. Harris Jr., community activist Tony Bullock, and call-in guest speakers Aaron Foster, and Celeste Harrell. We will open the call-in line 1(516) 387-1474 to others who would like to listen, or chime in on the conversation. Please visit the links below to gain a little background on tonight’s topic.
