Gensu Dean- Protector of The Lost Art

Peace and Black Power Family,

Welcome to another episode of Do Tha Knowledge Radio. The place where Knowledge is Born. I am your host Knowledge Born Allah. This episode we will be joined by the multifaceted mastermind who truly is a protector of the lost art who comes to us in the divine and righteous name of Mello Music Producer Gensu Dean. The Grand Incredible Gensu Dean. The Great Reminder and Protector of the Lost Art. Currently based in Austin, Texas Gensu has provided the sonic canvas for a range of talented artists. Everyone from Grammy Award winner David Banner, to the legendary WuTang Clan General Ol Dirty Bastard. Dean’s production resume reads like a who’s who’s of Hip Hop royalty. Credits also include Large Professor, Brand Nubian, Roc Marciano, Sean Price, Diamond D, Guilty Simpson, to Griselda/Shady Record's signee Conway The Machine. Gensu Dean’s sonic sound has on occasions stretched beyond the scope of the typical Hip Hop. A perfect example of this can be found on his album RAW (Refined Alkaline Water), where Gensu is found crafting an amazing uptempo Neo Soul track with the incredibly talented Georgia Anne Muldrow. When asked his views on music production, Dean explained “It is important to push the boundaries of sound and texture however; not for the sake of loosing yourself.” If you follow Dean’s impressive production credits you’ll start to get the picture as to why he is revered as one of Hip Hop’s best kept secrets. His sound is moody, yet colorful, hard and abrasive, yet warm and emotional. Gensu Dean is a one of a kind, back to basics, head nodding, beat making, sonically progressive producer with as many chambers as Khufu at Cheops.
