This is our Thinking Out Loud Series and we are honored to have in our midst a multitalented multfaceted warrior who comes to us in the divine a righteous name Mother. Artist. Survivor. Community Activist. Advocate for children (#EndChildSexualAbuse) Kween Jasira. Kween Jasira is a Memphian by way of Aberdeen, MS. Her full name means “bold, courageous woman for blacks” and more than adequately describes her mission as an artist: complete and utter dedication to the enlightenment and liberation of
her people via her muzik. She is known for giving performances that emphasize culture and spirituality. Kween Jasira is also an actress, having been in several theatrical productions in Memphis, D.C., and Philly. She's currently slated to debut as a lead character in the Toxic film series, slated to begin shooting in December. As a community activist, Kween Jasira has a desire to #ProtectOurYouth from child sexual abuse. She directly addresses and combats the issue of child sexual abuse via the promotion of preventive education and healing through the arts. Kween Jasira has also been a member of Concerned Citizens of Memphis, a non-profit organization that feeds and clothes the homeless of Memphis, TN since 2006.
