Krystal Muhammad joined the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense in March 2002 and chaired the Houston, Texas chapter. Krystal Muhammad was appointed NBPP Southern Regional Representative in 2004 and has been on the frontline organizing movements such as The NBPP Hurricane Katrina Search and Rescue Mission in 2005 in New Orleans, La, The Jena 6 justice movement in Jena, La., Willie Jones Jr 2018, Justice for victims of ethnic cleansing and genocide by the police - Alton Sterling, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray, Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin and more. Krystal Muhammad was elected by an overwhelming majority as the National Chair of the New Black Panther Party on December 1, 2013 at the NBPP National Summit in Atlanta. Ga.
