Not my first choice for a commentary watch for Pride Month- but let's just say I was pummeled into submission by film historian Patrick Crain and my former podcast partner Steven Ronquillo into viewing William Friedkin's infamous film Cruising- starring Al Pacino, Al Pacino, Paul Sorvino, Nancy Allen, Joe Spinell, Ed O'Neill and Powers Booth.
An extremely contreversial film when released in 1980- Cruising was vilified by both critics and the LGBTQ community. Only now, there has been a reassessment of the film that has justified its reputation as a well made film.
That being said, I don't like the film and its message- but you should watch and judge for yourself.
