Here are my thoughts, just to get the juices flowing.

You start with the Catholic Bible. I recommend either the Douai or Revised Standard Version, Catholic edition. Read a study Bible and/or use a good commentary. Navarre, Collegeville and Ignatius all have great commentaries.

Second, The Catechism of the Catholic church. If you dont read it cover to cover, you should still become very familiar with it.

Third, you need to read on the history of the church. Triumph by HW Crocker is a book I started and it's in the que to finish.

Fourth, You need to read books explaining what we believe. Frank Sheed is great for beginners. Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwig Ott is a great choice.

Fifth, books on apologetics by authors like Tim Staples, Steve Ray, Trent Horn, Karl Keating and others.

Sixth, Lives of the Saints. There are multitudes.

Seventh, the writings of the Saints and early fathers- Aquinas, Augustine, Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Catherine of Sienna, Justyn Martyr just to name a few.

Eighth- Catholic miracle stories- countless ones

Ninth- the classical allegorical writings- Dante, JRR Tolkein, CS Lewis.

Tenth- Deepertruth Articles and other fine Catholic Bloggars.

This is by no means exhaustive or definitive. Just a primer to get the thought going.
