The Venerable Mother Mariana de Jesus Torreswas praying before the Tabernacle at the Church in Quito Ecuador when she beheld a great vision. Early morning as she was praying before the tabernacle, it began to illuminate as if it was daylight. The door of the tabernacle opened as if by an unseen hand.

Dr. Gregory Thompson and I have done research on many Eucharistic Miracles and many times have we seen this radiance, this unknown light. Also there have been times when angels took the Blessed Sacrament from the tabernacle and given it to those destined for such a great blessing from God. What Mother Mariana was witnessing certainly miraculous, this is not solely unique.

With the tabernacle door being opened, coming from within this bright light emerged Jesus, His holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. John the Apostle, and finally Mary Magdalene. In this vision, a life size Jesus standing near the Altar, began to be in agony.

In seeing this vision, Mother Mariana asked Our Lady, “My Lady, am I guilty? The Virgin Mary responded,“You are not guilty, but rather the sinful world”. Editors note: The Virgin Mary was not saying that Mother Mariana was sinless, but that the Virgin Mary is referring to the sins of the world specifically. Mother Mariana was being called here to do sacrifice for others as a handmaid of the Lord.

Then a voice coming from Heaven, the voice of Our Heavenly Father exclaimed, “This punishment will be for the 20th Century” (and beyond). Above the vision of Jesus came three swords that appeared with the words, heresy, blasphemy, and impurity. These swords would mark the 20th Century’s cold faithless time in human history.
