I am so thankful that through all of this my Catholic Faith was always intact. Dr. Gregory Thompson and I was visiting my brotherRandy, a former Marine, a no-nonsense kind of guy. 6 foot 7, a very strong man, my brother went with a group to the Columbia Prison to pray with some of the prisoners. What he did not know going there that one of the prisoners was the master mind who killed our Uncle.

I am very proud of my Brother in that he took a very awkward situation and turned it into a positive, he forgave the prisoner for the murder of our uncle. What a story this was to me. It recalled what Jesus did from the cross, it recalled what St. Pope John Paul II did going to the cell forgiving Mehmet Ali Agca, we are to forgive.

The Catholic Church has always had a mission to reach out to the prisoners and one of the great testimonies that I have come to know is that of Russell Ford, a Catholic Convert while serving a 25 year prison sentence. Since his release, it is reported that Russell served 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, but what he did in prison promoting faith is very inspiring.
