The NC motor vehicle safety inspection program is in peril of being eliminated by the NC State legislature. Senate Bill S123 would eliminate safety inspections in NC. The result of this would be no vehicle would be required to meet a minimum safety standard to be in service or sold as pre-owned and operated on the roadways of NC.

If this legislation is passed the economic impact will be significant, not only affecting the inspection stations and employees and the industries that support them, but the State of North Carolina, its motoring public, the Community College system, Volunteer Rescue Squads, and the NC State highway fund will be impacted.

It is imperative that you contact your representative to voice your opinion on this bill.  Laws are passed daily that affect your life. Without your input this legislation could pass affecting the motoring public in NC.
