Film Biz Chat: One on One with DP/Operator Rick Taylor

Rick Taylor began his career as a cameraman shooting animated cartoons. He has worked for companies such as Disney, Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbara, Ruby Spears, Filmation Associates.

After completing 698 episodes of different cartoons he transitioned into visual effects working on films The Empire Strikes Back, Flight Of The Intruder, Buckaroo Banzai, Never Say Never Again, TRON and many others. Working for different companies such as ILM, Robert Abel and Associates, Mid Ocean Motion Pictures and others. This work led him into live action where he spent years working his way up from film loader, 2nd assistant, 1st assistant, to camera operator. A veteran of 90 plus feature films, half a dozen episodic series. Dozens of television commercials and music videos. A career spanning forty plus years behind the lens. He is now retired, living in Texas. He spends his time writing. He recently sold his first feature film script!
