Episode 47: Matthew and the Magi

After the angels and shepherds go back home, what happens next to the child from the manger?  In today’s episode of Crazy Faith Talk, pastors Erica and Steve take a look at another telling of the story of Jesus’ birth—one without any shepherds or mangers, but with a star in the sky, a fearful paranoid puppet-king, and traveling strangers from far away.  And even though we may be tempted to tame this story, the story of the Magi (or the Wise Men), too, there is surprising power and urgency in this story, as it reveals a God who becomes a refugee in the face of tyrants, and a far-reaching welcome to people from the “wrong” country, culture, language, and religion, to come face to face with the Christ Child.  In this concluding episode to our Advent and Christmas series, join in the conversation, and hear a story all over again for the first time!
