Odessa Mesa, AZ – Close Up Radio proudly announces a rebroadcast of Judy Stih's broadcast from 2017.

Judy Stih is the author of the moving and informative memoir of her turbulent upbringing entitled Worth Saving. The book was inspired by her alcoholic father’s journey to sobriety and her mother’s strength through adversity.

“My mother said everyone thought her husband was a saint because he went to AA,” explains Judy. “But people forgot all about the astounding things she did to hold our family together. She walked to work every day, always had our meals on the table never frozen TV dinners. Our clothes were always perfectly washed regardless of what unsettling events the previous evening held for her.”

The books also explores how Judy decided to care for her aging mother at home instead of placing her in an assisted living facility. Judy had no knowledge of what assistance was available to her or how exactly she could ensure she was giving her mother the appropriate medication and care. Her memoir recounts all the experiences and challenges Judy overcame through love, strength, and determination.

“My goal is to pass on the story of my father’s sobriety to every AA group in hopes they all realize it is possible to overcome regardless of detours and obstacles ahead,” says Judy. “If my memoir can inspire one person not to give up on their path to sobriety, or a son or daughter not to think it’s too difficult to handle caring for an aging loved one at home, then it’s all worth the effort.
