San Antonio TX-  Giving birth is one of the most exciting moments in a new mom’s life. Learning the best way to breastfeed is one of the most impactful ways to ensure her baby is provided with all the right nutrients.

Kathy Parkes is founder of Breastfeeding Perspectives, a top-level lactation consulting practice, as well as the author of the bestselling book Perspectives in Lactation: Is Private Practice for Me? Kathy is a deeply passionate advocate and educator for the health and well-being of birthing mothers everywhere, working closely with pregnant woman and new mothers to assist them in successfully meeting their breastfeeding goals.

“When we go to the hospital we expect our doctors and nurses to know everything about breastfeeding,” says Kathy. “When it’s a new mother’s first time breastfeeding it's critical she receive ongoing support. That’s what Breastfeeding Perspectives provides.” 

Kathy was inspired to become an IBCLC when a pregnant friend took her to a breastfeeding support group meeting where Kathy became acquainted and ultimately inspired by a different way to parent. 

“In my practice I offer so many different services to meet every individual mom’s needs,” says Kathy.

According to Kathy, when it comes to breastfeeding The International Board-Certified Lactation (IBCLC) consultant is the gold standard in the field of lactation.

“Breastfeeding is meant be enjoyable for both mom and baby,” says Kathy. “My mission statement, not only for my private practice but also for my life, is to change the world one mother and baby at a time.”
