Canton, OH – From the upper-class lawyer to the beggar on the street, addiction doesn’t discriminate. No matter who you are or where you come from, addiction can affect anyone. It’s a disease that can bring the family and indeed a whole community down with it, so it requires every resource available to prevent it from ravishing our communities.

The Lenzy Family Institute is a full-service behavioral health organization specializing in substance abuse and mental illness. Led by executive director Elizabeth Lenzy (M.A. LPCC-S), the institute provides a comprehensive array of substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery support through both outpatient and residential treatment services.

“So many people are affected by addiction. Maybe one or two people in a family suffer from addiction, but the whole family suffers,” says Lenzy. “We do whatever we need to do to help people solve their problems and meet them where they are.”

The Lenzy Family Institute’s mission is to bridge the gap to recovery by inspiring hope and helping patients regain optimal health and reclaim their lives. The Institute envisions a country where recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is supported and understood, and where all who seek recovery have access to the resources needed to achieve it.

Lenzy says for the clients and family members who come to the institute it’s all about relationships. These families are often at the end of their rope.

“We just do what we need to do,” says Lenzy. “If our patient has a need, if we can provide for it, we do. There are many community-based service providers in the area. They trust us because they know we provide great care.”
