Paxton, IL – Deb Lundquist is the founder of the Your Fibromyalgia, an online support group dedicated to helping individuals suffering from Fibromyalgia, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and other chronic pain conditions. Your Fibromyalgia provides education and resources to better manage chronic pain.

“I’m an advocate for people with fibromyalgia and chronic pain,” says Lundquist. “After 17 long years living with pain, I’ve learned what works best for me. I started Your Fibromyalgia to hopefully help others who are suffering and want to change their lives for better as I have.”

Lundquist’s journey began with a terrible car accident in April of 1999. She was struck by a full-sized van and an S10 pick-up truck and run off the road. Emergency responders said she should not be alive.

Within two weeks of the accident, Lundquist was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a condition characterized by severe pain and sensitivity, swelling, and changes in the skin. According to a study conducted by McGill University, RSD is considered the most painful form of chronic pain that exists.

Her doctors would later discover Lundquist also suffered from Fibromyalgia, a disorder characterized by chronic musculoskeletal pain accompanied by chronic fatigue, mood disorders and in some cases, memory issues like brain fog.

“It’s not understood,” says Lundquist. “You lose family, friends. You feel all alone. Some doctors don’t even believe in it. It’s very hard to be diagnosed. What keeps Your Fibromyalgia going are the messages I’ve received from people we have helped."
