Portland, OR – As a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, professional, and more, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. With all the demands placed on you by family, work, and day-to-day life, tending to your own needs often comes last if at all.

Rachel Starck is a counselor, life coach and the founder of The Thriving Mama, where she specializes in helping mothers move from surviving to thriving. Rachel works with moms to help them meet their personal goals, manage stress more effectively and learn how to be more fulfilled in their relationships.

“Most women are instinctive nurturers when it comes to others,  but we aren’t always so good at nurturing ourselves,” says Rachel. “That often becomes the primary focus of my sessions with clients: take care of yourself; eat well; get exercise; get sleep and have good support. If we do not take care of ourselves, maintaining our multiple care taking roles is not sustainable.”

Rachel’s specialty is working with mothers to address chronic patterns of over-committing, over-extending and under-prioritizing themselves. As a counselor, Rachel possesses a wealth of experience helping moms, couples, and families navigate the challenges that arise with parenthood in modern living.

“Your family is your heart and your children are everything so I’m proud to be a part of so many people’s lives and see them make so much positive change,” says Rachel. “I feel honored to participate in so many families’ decisions to do the best they can. To be a part of that and help navigate and facilitate positive change is so rewarding and fulfilling for me"
