Seattle, WA The environment in which personal growth and healing occurs can be incredibly important to the process itself. An inspiring and sacred place may deepen a person’s learning experience.

Iris Milligan is the Founder of The Sacred Garden Healing Center, ‘a nurturing space to facilitate awakening through the education and practice of healing arts.’ The center offers a beautiful and serene setting for classes, meetings, therapeutic enclaves and retreats for intimate groups.

“It‘s a place for people to come and learn and grow,” says Iris. “It’s a very grounded space that’s deeply connected with nature.”

Iris began her spiritual journey with Reiki classes back in 1999. These classes would introduce her to the world of other healing arts.

“I’d taken some amazing classes and workshops and some of them had been in the most beautiful places, in the woods or on the beach,” recalls Iris. “The environment made the workshop even more powerful. Most workshops happen in hotel conference rooms, and those workshops are wonderful, but I’ve always felt there was something lacking.”

Iris moved back to Seattle, upon which she set out on her most ambitious creative endeavor to date: to create the ideal healing center for the people in her community to gather and learn and grow.

Today, Iris offers the Sacred Garden Healing Center for everything from personal growth and awareness workshops to women’s support groups and even shamanic workshops. The garden, dove sanctuary, flowers, pathways and trees provide the optimal environment for learning and growing.

“The process of creating the center has been an incredible journey for me,” says Iris. “It's helped me to learn and grow in ways I could have never imagined."
