Depew, NY – It’s been said the only guarantees in life are death and taxes, and each April you can guarantee anyone writing a check to the U.S. Treasury is not happy about it. We dread paying our taxes, but that dread prevents us from being proactive about them.

Rosemarie Steeb is a CPA and founder of Rosemarie Steeb Tax Services, specializing in income tax preparation services for individuals, trusts, public charities and private foundations. For over 30 years, Steeb has brought her exceptional grasp of the complex issues associated with tax compliance, educating her clients in overlooked deductions to help reduce their obligation.

“I take a no-stone-left-unturned approach to accounting,” says Rosemarie. “There are so many deductions individuals can be taking advantage within the purview of the law; they’re simply not widely publicized.”

Whether it’s retirement saving credits, deductions for volunteer activity, non-cash contributions like the Salvation Army or Good Will, even education credits, Rosemarie says clients are often surprised by how many deductions they’re eligible for. They can even amend their last three years of tax returns to reflect these overlooked deductions.

Though she acknowledges people rely on their accountants a great deal, Rosemarie actually prefers that her clients be educated and aware. She says she’s most passionate about her work with non-profit organizations, educating them on all the facets of compliance so they can continue to receive funding and do great work.

“There’s no reason the complexity of the rules should prevent these organizations from delivering critical services to our community," says Rosemarie. "When I could see that I was giving back to my community by helping these organizations achieve their missions, it became my mission.”
