Little Rock, AR – Overcoming a debilitating illness often gives people a new enthusiasm for life. Blessed with a second chance, they resolve to take advantage of all the precious moments life has to offer. While waiting for my kidney transplant, Mary Kathryn Marcom received her certification in coaching.

“I felt like I had a lot to offer because of what I’d been through,” says Marcom. “I have a lot of enthusiasm for life and I know it’s possible to go through challenges and still come out on the other side. I’m all about making my life better every day and I like to share that with people.”

Today, Marcom is the founder of Life Coach Arkansas, a general coaching practice serving the population of Little Rock and Central Arkansas. As both a certified Life Coach and Certified Christian Life Coach, Marcom works with clients one-on-one, in a group setting and offers consulting for businesses and churches.

“I’ve been through a lot so I think that gives me a different perspective and understanding of what people go through on a daily basis,” says Marcom. “I really see the value in life coaching and I hope other people begin to see that. When people get to know me they realize I’m there to help them.”

Originally a licensed social worker, Marcom says a part of her has always felt for the underdog. She collaborates with her clients on everything from health and wellness and time management to life after addiction and even relationship problems.

“I never let my kidney disease or my time in a wheelchair stop me,” says Marcom. “I just kept fighting and fighting. I don’t give up easily and if I’m your coach, neither will you.”
