Boulder, CO – We’re taught from day one that hard work is the key to success – that rest is the opposite of productivity and play is the opposite of responsibility – so it’s no wonder that workaholism has quietly become one of the biggest problems facing our culture today.

Unlike drugs and alcohol, our culture reinforces our addiction to work even at the expense of our physical health. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 76.2 million Americans suffer from some form of chronic pain. It isn’t hard to draw the connection.

Charlie Birch is the founder of Being Human Ally, Inc., a holistic coaching practice specializing in pain management and workaholic recovery. Through a one-on-one coaching program, which draws from Charlie's own experience recovering from both chronic pain and workaholism, Being Human Ally helps clients restore a sense of balance in their lives and build a new sustainable lifestyle.

“What else could I be better qualified to help people with than the two things that were the hardest for me to overcome?” says Charlie. “I can relate to my clients and I can offer really clear advice. It worked for me and I’m not so different that it should only work for me.”
