Collingwood, Ontario – Research shows our global climate is changing, yet we persist in convincing ourselves technology can fix anything and our natural resources are unlimited. We’re too busy, so we kick the can down the road expecting our children to solve our problems for us.

But what kind of future will our children inherit? How can we make our homes and communities the safe, healthy, special place they should be?

Environmental Insights is dedicated to “changing how people see their choices.” Through empowering sustainability keynotes, workshops and webinars, Environmental Insights offers practical ways to implement and balance social, environmental and economic responsibilities to benefit the health of your family, your community and your planet.

“I’m constantly searching for the buttons I can push that will cause people to take another look,” says JoAnne Fleming-Valin, founder of Environmental Insights. “Until we change how we see something we’ll never change how we do anything."

JoAnne believes the problem begins with our “modern creation story” where everything begins on a store shelf in a package. This story reveals the fundamental disconnect with our community.

“So many people in the younger generations don’t understand what community means,” explains JoAnne. “If you don’t have that sense of community, you’re not engaged in the issues facing your community."

JoAnne is also the author of the forthcoming book The Aisle Less Traveled: Alternatives for Women Shoppers. JoAnne believes women have the ability to change the direction of the world with their choices.

“Simplifying life isn’t about deprivation, it’s about innovation. You have to be open to new insights to experience the emotional shift that changes your behavior.”
