Award-winning documentary fine art photographer Danielle Austen truly finds beauty everywhere. In even the most ordinary perceived scenes, Danielle takes her passion and her perception into the environment to capture unique and striking photographs.

After earning her BFA from Cornell University, Danielle worked as a graphic designer before attending the Master’s program at the Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, in photojournalism. She now combines her skills to create her fine art imagery.

Danielle’s work has appeared in many exhibits and countless national and regional publications including New Jersey Monthly, New York Times, and the 2002 issue of Life’s “Year In Pictures.” With an already impressive list of accolades and awards Danielle was one of the winners of the Canon “Project Imaginat10n” Contest. Her photograph was selected by a panel of celebrity judges and will be used as inspiration for the co-founder of Twitter, Biz Stone’s upcoming short film.

“I am a bit of a traditionalist. As a trained photojournalist, I am bound to create images without manipulation and seek honesty in my subjects. I use the interplay of light, form, pattern, color, and movement to discover the spirituality and artistry of the moment. I seek for what many may see as ordinary and use the lens to discover the extraordinary." says Austen.

With a love for the environment, Danielle is an avid traveler and outdoorswoman who genuinely takes joy in everything she sees. “I love exploring the landscape and feel that it is vitally important for us to document the unique moments of our surroundings — these moments are beautiful but fleeting and always changing.”
