Lewiston, ME – So often it seems the worth of your life is determined by your checklist. Do you have the job you want? Do you make enough money? When are you getting married? When will you start a family? It can feel like walls closing in on you. We all have our scripts, but we also have free will. We can choose to go off script and live life on our terms.

Jeannine Roy is the author of The Truth is Written in Your Heart, a guide to connecting with the spirit within you to discover your personal power.

“So many people are hurting and it’s inside them but they keep looking externally,” says Roy. "You are the only pathway to a happy life. The source of our joys and our suffering is between our ears, our mind and perception.”

According to The Truth is Written in Your Heart, we enter the physical plane with a blank slate. As we develop through the stages of childhood, adolescence and adulthood, we accept ideas from family, religion and schools that become embedded within our consciousness. Over time, disillusionment sets in, but this discontent from within are the first whispers of spirit.

“We’re influenced by our family, your friends, your job, by our culture. It’s designed to confuse us and it’s a long swim back to self,” says Roy. “The only way to confront these programs is to see them for what they are. Listen to your heart. Examine the source of your feelings. Excavate your life and keep only what works.”
