Imperial Beach, CA – A child’s future begins and ends with the parents, but in our “hurry and worry” culture, how can we effectively discipline our children while building lifelong family relationships?
Judith Bonner is the author of Stress-free Discipline, an authoritative guide for parents seeking effective ideas for raising their children. The book teaches parents step-by-step how to appropriately discipline their children through a long-term plan for bonding and personal growth.
“I wrote this book because I wanted to reduce the stress in families,” says Bonner. “Stress-free Discipline can be applied to any child in any family. It helps build bonds that can’t be broken. It’s like a love toolkit.”
According to Bonner, effective parenting can’t be done passively. Stress-free Discipline’s system helps parents develop their child’s life skills to gradually eliminate the potential for poor behavior.
“The challenge for parents when they hear the word discipline, they don’t really know what that means,” explains Bonner. “They pursue the idea of preventing the wrong behaviors, but it’s more about encouraging the right behavior, building responsibility and understanding the consequences of poor decisions.”
Bonner spent seven of her 19 years as an English teacher working with delinquent students. Part of Bonner’s emphasis with Stress-free Discipline is to bridge the gap between home and school and make that transition easier for parents and teachers.
“As a single parent, I certainly would have appreciated Stress-Free Discipline when I was raising my sons,” says Bonner. “My greatest accomplishment has been giving people the tools to build strong families.”
